  • ENHANCEMENT: module/server-group. Optionally allow users to specify their own list of names to be used when creating DNS records. Optionally create an Elastic IP Address for each Elastic Network Interface so that servers in the Server Group are accessible via the public Internet. This is especially handy for automated tests, but most production deployments should reside within the private VPC only. (#18, #19, #20, #21)

https://github.com/gruntwork-io/package-zookeeper/pull/17: In the previous release, we tried to move away from the webupd8 JDK installer for Ubuntu, which stopped working for the latest version of JDK8, to a custom one, but it turns out the webupd8 had a huge amount of custom code (e.g., creating symlinks, configuring fonts, setting up env vars, etc) that we were missing. In this release, we've gone back to the webupd8, but with a patch that makes it work again with the latest JDK8. That means that we are back to the --version flag for Ubuntu installs and --download-url and --checksum for Amazon Linux / CentOS.

  • BREAKING CHANGE: The install-oracle-jdk module now installs Oracle JDK directly from Oracle for Debian and Ubuntu Linux. We also updated the default Oracle Java version to the latest JDK8 as of January 16, 2018. (#14 )

    This is barely a breaking change, but it still qualified as breaking. Previously, install-oracle-jdk accepted a --version argument used to install a particular major version of the JDK (e.g. 8). Now, if you wish to specify a version of the JDK other than our default, you can pass in custom values for --download-url and --checksum for both Debian/Ubuntu and RHEL/CentOS/Amazon Linux.
